How long is a Peterborough Flying School gift voucher valid for?
All our flight experience gift vouchers are valid for a full 12 months from the date of purchase. If your flight is delayed due to British weather, your voucher automatically remains fully protected with our 100% Free Weather Guarantee, and we offer low-cost £50 late extensions if you ever need extra time.
Can a complete beginner log this trial flight towards a Private Pilot Licence (PPL)?
Yes! Peterborough Flying School is a fully CAA Approved Flight Training Organisation (ATO/DTO). 100% of the flight time on every trial flight experience is logged in an official UK Civil Aviation Authority pilot logbook and counts directly towards the 45 hours required for a PPL or 32 hours for an LAPL.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable on the day of my booked flight?
Safety and passenger enjoyment are our highest priorities. If low cloud, rain, or high winds prevent safe visual flight, we will notify you and reschedule your flight for any convenient future date at zero charge. Your voucher expiry is automatically protected.
Are there any age or weight limits for trial flying lessons?
There is no strict upper age limit! For our 2-seater Cessna 150/152 aircraft, the maximum passenger weight limit is typically 15–16 stone (approx. 95–102 kg). For passengers up to 18 stone (114 kg) or for shared family flights, we operate our 4-seater Piper PA-28 Cherokee (G-LIZI). Children as young as 12 can comfortably take the controls under instructor supervision.
Can friends or family come along to watch the flight?
Absolutely! Friends and family are warmly invited to Sibson Aerodrome. We have an outdoor viewing area directly overlooking our grass runway, a heated pilot clubhouse lounge with tea and coffee facilities, and free parking right outside the hangar. On our 4-seater Piper PA-28 shared flights, a family member can even sit in the rear as a passenger while you fly!
